We Can Smile Again!

Last week I was feeling quite sad about the loss of my pet, even though she’s been gone for over a year. I don’t think I will ever forget her.

I was reading through some Twitter tweets and blogs the day of my post, and was amazed at how many of us ache for our lost pets. A lot of us can relate with the sometimes too painful memories of our beloved pets.

I’m glad I’m not alone in this.

TAKING ACTION

I decided to browse through the local shelters and even the posted classifieds in the area.

I knew we needed to find a little buddy for my big boy Pinty and what better way to rescue and adopt a lonely cat somewhere!

—————- =^. .^= ————————-

I found a kitten that resembled my Little Girl that I lost last year due to some unknown disease. It’s possible she may have had FIV or leukemia since I noticed from pictures taken that her eyes turned from bright green to dark brown in a matter of weeks prior to her death. She also must have had a heart condition as her breathing was extraordinarily fast (and she would collapse to rests) after a tiny amount of running. My deepest regrets: not taking her to see a vet sooner!! 😦

After communicating with the keeper we made an appointment to see her immediately. I took off work one day and went over to visit. I was pleasantly surprised she was tiny like our beloved Rose. Adorable!

Scheduled to pick her up the next day, same day as her visit with the vet, and brought her home.

SOME CONCERNS

She comes from a badly flea infested home so she still itches all over and has an umbilical hernia (protruding belly button). 😦

We can only wish this could be taken care of soon, however we must wait till she gets spayed to avoid unnecessary surgeries.

And here she is!

😀 😀

meet

Who are you kitty?

She can now meet my big boy, (mind you, Pinty is only 10 months, but so huge!!)

We can now smile again! We have two kittens to love 🙂

I was worried about my big kitten, but so far he has been the nicest gentleman, letting her eat his food before he is even finished. Amazing! 🙂

Here they are.

Come out please

“Come out purrrrty please!”

She is so playful, he is getting what I had hoped for: a happy playmate.

Can we be friends?

She is too funny!

This little explorer has learned every nook and cranny of our home already and our big boy appears to love her! We haven’t settled on a name yet but love the show Phantom of the Opera and my daughter is leaning towards Little Lotte for her name.

She is so incredibly cute.

A moment to pause… Not for long!

More from the funny kittens that make us smile soon!
